The „Private Railways Convention” to be held on the 22nd June 2013 (Saturday) is closely connected to the Railway Museum’s event „Night of Museums”, as a sort of „prologue” to it. Due to the railway liberalisation in the European Union, the private railway companies are gaining a more and more important role in the Hungarian rail cargo transport.
The aim of the Hungarian Railway Museum is to present these companies as well as the locomotives operated by them.
The convention of the special locomotives is an excellent opportunity for railway enthusiasts to photograph the engines which operate in the fleet of different private rail companies, both in daylight and night conditions, on the longest day of the year, at one place at the same time.
The expected participants of the event are:
MÁV Nosztalgia’s Big Bobó No. A25.016 and Nohab locomotives,
GYSEV’s vehicles: the "GYSEV 140" Taurus, and the loco "Ludmilla" with serial number 92 530 651 004-9,
Rail Cargo Hungária’s Taurus loco,
DB Schenker Rail Kft.’s 0469-series diesel-hydraulic locomotive,
MMV Zrt.’s LDE-type locomotive (Big Dacia),
Rail Cargo Carrier Kft.’s 2068-series diesel locomotive with ÖBB logo.
The vehicles lined up by turntable „B” of the Railway Museum will be presented to our visitors at 12:00 and 15:00, and at 23:00 on the Night of Museums, within the framework of a locomotive parade.
(The Railway Museum reserves the right to make changes to the above schedule.)
